The Imaginary Million

December 9, 2016

Wonderroot’s The Imaginary Million is tonight, one of my favorite events. I and ninety-nine other artists have contributed work to this live and silent auction at which each artist receives ten thousand “dollars” to bid. An auction by and for local artists and a “music show + dance party + cocktail party” and fundraiser for a great local organization — hurray!

Here is a detail from my drawing, called “A Million Pens and Mechanical Pencils”:

March 15, 2016

Happy to be playing in Invent Room Pop this Friday!

This is a random-group improvisation that draws together musicians from across the experimental, indie, and classical worlds of Atlanta music. Always interesting. . .

For Three Equalizers

December 16, 2015

11-19-2015-respite-from-the-cold-1

I am delighted to be playing at the 8th “Respite From the Cold,” a drone-noise-music event held annually in December (when, normally, it is cold). It is this Saturday night, the 19th, at Mammal Gallery and it is free. Here is an article about the show, and here is the Facebook page (where you can read about all the performers).

And, here is a snippet of a rehearsal track: for this show I’ll play three equalizers.

11-20-2015-zine_2_sm

I am contributing some zines for Atlanta Zine Fest Fundraiser — this Friday, 6-10 pm at Murmur on Broad Street. The zine is “Recent Drawings” and to make sales for the fundraiser more enticing, I made 10 original watercolors: buyers receive one each with purchase of zine…

A gentle reminder that my Kickstarter campaign ends in 3 days. Get a drawing or a small book of drawings from my recent trip to Istanbul. . .

Farewell, Onyx !

March 29, 2015

3-29-2015-farewell-to-onyxToday I sold a Mackie 12 channel mixer that I’d had for 9-1/2 years. Untold hours (thousands?) of sound input into this marvelous machine.

Here is the very first recording I made with it, back in November 2005, called “Enter the Fire” in honor of the mixer’s Firewire card:
