I Heart Hosono

May 6, 2017

From this date in 2007, and extremely rapidly conceived an executed cover version of a song form the really charming record “H.I.S.” by Hosono Haruomi, Kiyoshirō Imawano and Fuyumi Sakamoto. It is mostly acoustic, includes various covers (“Purple Haze,” “500 Hundred Miles,” “And I Lover Her”), great harmonies, tasteful playing and accompaniments, a silly song about skiing, etc.

This particular track was written by Kiyoshirō Imawano. You can hear the original here.

Small Pleasures

March 3, 2017

I am enjoying these little devices. Here is tonight’s experiment with the recent construction of CV control  (grey box) of a Korg Monotron (middle), with Kastle Synth and Volca Sample providing the sound and CV input. The rather crude recording setup means this is all mono…. live with no post-processing.
